Devotions Week 23:

Joy is the experience of knowing that you are unconditionally loved and that nothing-sickness, failure, emotional distress, oppression, war, or even death- can take that love away. ~Henri Nouwen

Godlessness in the last days. But mark this: there will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God – having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them. 2 Timothy 3:1-5
(read 3:1-9)
Peace and joy. Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ… Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance, character; and character hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out His love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom He has given us. Romans 5:1, 3-5
(read 5:1-11)
Children of God through faith. You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus, since all who were baptised into Christ have been clothed with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male or female for you are all one in Christ Jesus. Galatians 3:26-28
(read 3:19-29)
Devoted to the needs of the hungry and the oppressed. And if you spend yourselves on behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noonday. The Lord will guide you always; He will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail. Isaiah 58:10-11
(read 58:6-11)
We are weak, yet You are strong. …The Spirit helps us in our weakness… And He who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God’s will. And we know that in all things God works for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. Romans 8:26-28
(read 8:26-31)
Help and love our neighbours. We who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak and not to please ourselves… Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God. Romans 15:1, 7
(read 15:1-7)
Walk in the way of righteousness. Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on His law day and night. Psalm 1:1-2
(read 1:1-6)

Let the beauty of Jesus be seen in me
All his wondrous compassion and purity
O thou Spirit Divine all my nature refine
Till the beauty of Jesus be seen in me
