Devotions Week 3:
“It is not darkness you are going to, for God is light. It is not lonely, for Christ is with you. It is not unknown country for Christ is there.” ~ Charles Kingsley
|Light in a dark world.
“While I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”

|Christ’s promise to you.
This is what He promised us – even eternal life.
|1 John 2:25
(read 1 John 2:18-27)
|Is your Christian life losing its shine?
“…Yet you refuse to come to me to have life.”
(read John 5:31-40)
|Using a crisis as a turning point.
Jesus said, “For judgement I have come into this world, so that the blind will see and those that see will become blind.”
(read John 9:35-41)
|How do you react to life?
“…I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”
(read John 10:1-10)
|A firm trust.
“I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me will live, even though He dies.”
(read John 17-27)
|Trust in His guidance.
Show me your ways, O Lord, teach me your paths.
(read Psalm 25)
Lead, kindly light, amid the encircling gloom; lead Thou me on
The night is dark, and I am far from home; lead Thou me on.
Keep Thou my feet; I do not ask to see the distant scene – one step enough for me.
I was not ever thus, nor prayed that Thou should lead me on.
I loved to choose and see my path; but now lead Thou me on.
I loved the garish day, and spite of fears pride ruled my will; remember not past years
So long Thy power has blessed me, sure it still will lead me on,
Over moor and fen over crag and torrent, till the night is Gone;
And with the morn those angel faces smile,
Which I have loved long since, and lost awhile.
~John Henry Newman 1801-90
