Our Eyes on Jesus

Devotions Week 34:

Whatever situation you are in, God put you there for a reason, for a lesson, and for a purpose.

Jesus the way to eternal life. …This we proclaim concerning the Word of Life. The life appeared; we have seen it and testify to it, and we proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the father and has appeared to us. 1 John 1:1-2
(read 1:1-7)
Do not love the world. Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. For everything in the world – the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life – comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever. 1 John 2:15-17
Greed destroys love for God. If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him? 1 John 3:17
(read 3:13-20)
Pray, rejoice and do not be anxious. Do not be anxious about anything but in everything by, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7
(read 4:4-8)
Fear vs. love. And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them… There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. 1 John 4:16, 18
(read 4:16-21)
Open our eyes lord, to the light of Jesus. For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made His light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ. 2 Corinthians 4:6
(read 4:1-6)
The glory of the new covenant of Jesus beyond the veil. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into His likeness with ever increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit. 2 Corinthians
(read 3:7-18)

Let it rain, let it rain. Open the floodgates of Heaven. Let it rain, let it rain.
Healing rain is coming down, it’s coming nearer to this old town.
Rich and poor, weak and strong, it’s bringing mercy, it won’t be long.
Healing rain is coming down.
It’s coming down to the lost and found.
Tears of joy and tears of shame are washed forever in Jesus’ name.
Healing rain, it comes with fire. So let it fall and take us higher.
Healing rain, I’m not afraid to be washed in Heavens rain.
Lift your heads, let us return to the mercy seat where time began.
And in your eyes I see the pain. Come soak this dry heart with healing rain.
And only You, the Son of man can take a leper and let him stand.
So lift your hands, they can be held by someone greater, the Great I AM.
