Wired for “220”

A Baptist pastor by the name of Adrian Rogers once shared his secret to being used by God saying, “Every morning, during my Quiet Time, I consider the chair that I’m sitting in to be an electric chair. And every morning I consciously push the 220 button, and 220 volts surge through my selfish nature and I die to self and Christ lives in me.”
Once we begin to understand the practicalities of Galatians 2:20, that Jesus wants to live in us, and He wants to love people through us, and forgive people through us, and encourage and help people through us, it makes a huge difference in the way we live, love and minister. Instead of trying to imitate the life of Jesus, which is impossible, we need to simply abide in Him. Have you allowed the truth of Galatians 2:20 to change your life? Are you wired for 220?

Disciple Shift Series: Defining a Disciple

Being a disciple means that we acknowledge that we’re saved for God’s kingdom purposes. Our mission is not simply to come to Church each Sunday, to be nice to other people or to cram a lot of biblical facts inside our heads. It’s for every disciple to join in God’s mission in this world. The world is hurting and lost. People are dying and going to hell. We can give no greater gift of love than to share the good news that brings people into a relationship with God through Jesus.
